In
1998, the Lively Arts History Association, in
cooperation with the California Council for the
Humanities and with the support of the LA County
Cultural Affairs Department staged a Gold Rush
living history program at the Autry Museum of
Western Heritage in Los Angeles.
The
program consisted of over 50 costumed participants,
portraying the lives of men and women in the gold
fields of California in the 1850s.
We
did it again in 2000, for the Huntington Library
and Museum. Click
here for photographs from those two programs.
