The Medieval program is geared towards children from K-12, and can be modified to suit any audience, to include high school groups, historical societies or anyone else with an interest in the every day life of the common folk of the Middle Ages.

The presenter, Walter Nelson, wears authentic costume from the era, and takes on the identity of the person he represents, to include speech, mannerisms and opinions. He tells the story of his character's life, then answers questions in character, and then drops character to answer those questions his character would not be able to answer.

The program emphasizes audience interaction, and participation in such activities as dances and games; and "guided make believe" such as rowing a Viking Longship or performing medieval surgery.

For more information on the Medieval program, or any of the Lively Arts History Association's other educational programs, contact Walter Nelson at 818-342-3482 or laha@pacbell.net
